Black History Month - Rahway

Black History Month celebrations will kick off Thursday, February 3, 2011.  There will be an opening reception at the Fazioli Piano Left at the Union County PAC, 1601 Irving, St, Rahway.Donald Benners, Vice-President and Head of Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorist Financing and Economic Sanctions for North America Allied Irish Bank in NY, will be the keynote speaker.   Following this brief ceremony there will be a performance of The Red Zinger African-American Theatre Rag”, a collection of historical and contemporary dramatic readings, from Harriet Tubman to August Wilson featuring Darrell Lawrence Willis, Sr. and Lorraine Stone of the Dunbar Repertory Company.  A reception at Conservatory Piano and Hi-Fi, 1591 Irving St., will immediately follow the performance.There is no admission charge, but seating is limited and reservations are encouraged.
