Buddy Guy Plays Tonight at UCPAC

Tickets are still available for the blues guitar legend.

Legendary blues guitarist Buddy Guy is hitting the stage at Union County Performing Arts Center (UCPAC) tonight in a single night gig that's not to be missed.

The 74-year-old is a Rock and Roll Hall of fame inductee, a major influence on Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and Stevie Ray Vaughan, and listed by Rolling Stone in the top 30 of the 100 greatest guitarists of all times.

"When I was 21,” says Guy, "some of my older friends, who are no longer with us, they’d say, 'You’re still a baby.' And then they said the same thing when I was 31, then 41, and I thought, ‘Man, when do I get old?’ I've been hearing that ever since I first went to Chicago—'You’re still wet behind the ears.' So when do I get dry?"

Guy's new album, 'Living Proof,' shows that he's only just begun. Another rock legend, Carlos Santana, is Guy's friend who plays on the stripped down album, featuring such introspective tracks as "74 Years Young," "Everybody's Got to Go," and "Thank Me Someday."

The Grammy Award-winning Guy plays tonight at 8 pm. Tickets are $40 to $85, and can be had at the UCPAC website. For more information, call 732-499-8226.
