If health issues are a concern and health insurance is not an option, register for the 2011 Health Expo October 15 at the Woodbridge Township Public Health Center at 2 G Frederick Plaza. Residents will receive free or reduced cost health and wellness screenings and seasonal flu shots. Medicare patients can receive a free flu shot; others pay only $15.

The Expo will take place from 9:00 am to noon and include healthy cooking demonstrations and health and wellness giveaways. The annual event offers residents an opportunity to receive free health screening tests to monitor medical conditions. The tests include a comprehensive blood pressure screening, an eye and foot screening exam, a glucose screening, lung function testing, an oral cancer screening and testing for osteoporosis.

Residents will also find information on many health related topics including Social Security, Medicare, substance abuse and domestic violence. There will be healthcare providers at the Expo as well as representatives from medical assistance agencies to provide information on healthcare products, services and programs.
