Woodbridge Food Pantries Receive 2,000 Pounds of Food in Township Drive

The Season of Giving Food Drive was held to benefit the "We Feed Woodbridge" network of food pantries.

Woodbridge food pantries were stocked with more than 2,000 pounds of food this weekend, following Saturday's Season of Giving Food Drive

Mayor's office spokesman John Hagerty said it was the largest influx of food donated to the pantries in a single day.

Additionally, Competitive Power Ventures donated $2,000 to the network of food pantries.

The weekend snow prevented the Woodbridge Rec Basketball League from operating two drop-off spots for the drive, but they've rescheduled for 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4 at Mawbey Street School and Woodbridge Middle School, according to league vice president Angel DeJesus.

Non-perishable and canned items will be accepted.
