Remember: Route 35 in Woodbridge is Closed

Save yourself the traffic and the trip: Route 35 is closed at the railroad tracks near the Main Library in both directions Sunday and Monday.

As you go about your travels today, don't forget: Route 35 in Woodbridge is closed from 7 am today, October 21 through Monday, October 22, at 6 pm.

The closure is at the railroad tracks near the Kings Garden Apartments and Woodbridge Main Library on Route 35/St. Georges Avenue. Conrail announced earlier this week that they will be making upgrades to the railroad traffic crossing and sidewalks in the area.

The freight tracks are being replaced, and Conrail also said that the road-level crossing will be upgraded along with other improvements.

Meanwhile, motorists will have to figure a way around the road closure. Detour signs will be posted.

Drivers traveling northbound should use Green Street, to Route 9 North, and loop back to Route 35. Those going southbound can use posted detour signs to Route 9 and back onto Green Street.
