P.A.C.E. Program to be Honored for Autism Awareness Month

The program housed at the Matthew Jago School in Sewaren will be feted Tuesday for the strides they've made with their autistic students.

Forty percent of children at the #28 in Sewaren are classified as special education students. This unique school has done amazing things for its charges as one of the district's magnet schools for special ed, and that is in no small part to the involvement of parents, teachers, and the school's principal in the P.A.C.E. program.

P.A.C.E.- Program for the Advancement of Children's Education - is the flagship effort of the school toward helping the entire spectrum of children enrolled in the school's various special education curriculums.

One of the challenges some Matthew Jago students face is learning to live with and master the entire spectrum of autistic disorders. April is National Autism Awareness Month, and the P.A.C.E. group will be honored at a ceremony at the Municipal Building Tuesday evening at 6 pm.
