Mayor Hosts Healthy Cook-Off Challenge at Wegmans

The following information was provided by the Township of Woodbridge.

Woodbridge Township Mayor John E. McCormac and the Mayors Wellness Campaign, partnered with Melissa Kostinas, Director of the State Mayors Wellness Campaign at The NJ Health Care Quality Institute will  sponsor the “Woodbridge Community Healthy Cook-Off Challenge Competition” at a special “throw-down” on Wed., May  15, 2013 at the Woodbridge Wegmans. 

“Cook-Off” contestants will prepare healthy recipes which will be judged in four categories: “Healthiest,” “Most Creative,” “Best Flavor” and “Best Overall.”  The Mayors Wellness Campaign champions community health by increasing opportunities for Woodbridge Township residents to participate in daily health and wellness initiatives and programs.  By encouraging local business and community leaders to play a lead role in supporting local opportunities for active, healthy lifestyles, the Mayors Wellness Campaign is at work making Woodbridge a statewide leader in community-based health interventions. The competition will be judged by a panel of special guest judges, featuring former New York Giants Running Back Ottis “O.J.” Anderson. Anderson played for the NY Giants from 1987-1992 and was a Super Bowl XXV Champion and Super Bowl MVP.
