JFK Medical Center Offers Stroke Assessment

The Edison-based medical center is offering a free stroke awareness program and screening in recognition of May's National Stroke Awareness Month.

Comprehensive Stroke Center will host a FREE Stroke Awareness program and health screening on Wednesday, May 2 from 5 pm to 7 pm in the Conference Center at 70 James Street in Edison.

Members of the Hospital’s medical staff, along with a stroke survivor, will present the latest information regarding signs and symptoms of stroke, the importance of early treatment, and lifestyle modifications to prevent a stroke.

Strokes can happen to anyone at any time regardless of race, gender, or age.  Since strokes can happen suddenly, it is extremely important to know the risk factors and what steps can be taken to prevent stroke.  Acting quickly in the case of stroke is of utmost importance.
