The friends of two teenagers killed in a car accident in East Brunswick are attempting to start a scholarship in honor of their friends, mycentraljersey.com reports.

A giveforward.com account established on Dec. is aimed at raising $50,000 in honor of Jeffrey Szatkowski, 17, of Spotswood, and Nicole Surace, 18, of Milltown. So far, $35,000 has been raised, according to the report.

The teens were killed in a single-car crash on Dutch Road on Nov. 30.

Their friends met a short time later and wanted to come up with a way to honor Szatkowksi and Surace. One came across the giveforward.com website, and the fund was established a short time later, according to the report.

Giveforward is a site that provides pages for establishing fundraisers for loved ones for free. The fundraiser for Szatkowski and Surace is designed to raise money for remembrance gifts for their families and establish a scholarship fund in their name.
