Colonia's 'Babbling Brook' is for Sale

One of the most amazing estates ever in Woodbridge Township is up for grabs.

One of the most beautiful houses with spectacular grounds in Woodbridge Township is looking for a buyer.

, the musical-sounding name given to the 14-room Tudor jewel set among 2.7 acres of prime real estate in the Colonia section of the township, will be home to the Zirpolos no more.

The family, which counts among its members a former mayor of Woodbrige in the 1960s, is putting the house up for sale. To that end, they're holding an open house, to be held on Saturday and Sunday, September 22 and 23, at the home at 335 New Dover Road in the estate section of Colonia.

The house was built in 1921 and boasts amenities that sound like they were inspiried by the mansions of Beverly Hills: an enormous game room, a huge greenhouse, a three-car garage with apartment overhead (for the chauffeur, natch), and not one, but two pools - and one of them is indoors!

And did I mention the grounds?

The Zirpolo family has always gone out of their way to maintain lavish gardens. They're so gorgeous the family at least once a year for tours that are always filled to capacity.

It's not pushing it to say that Babbling Brook may well be the most magnificent property to come onto the market in the township in recent memory. It's certainly a house chockful of history that harkens back to a more gracious, elegant, and refined way of living.
