Beware of Blowing Holiday Decorations This Morning

The National Weather Service has issued a high wind advisory this morning, so watch out for Christmas decorations that may escape their moorings.

The Central New Jersey area, including Woodbridge, is in for some stiff winds this morning.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory in effect until 9 am today. They say to expects winds from the south, running at 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

The strongest winds will happen by mid-morning. The gusts could bring down trees, tree limbs and power lines, and driving high-profile vehicles, particularly on overpasses, could prove difficult.

Motorists should use extra caution this morning.

Homeowners should also fasten down light objects that could blow around, such as trash cans. Objects that may fall victims to the high winds may also include Christmas decorations, so people who spruced up their homes this holiday season should be on the alert.
