$3.59 a Gallon? Cheap Gas is Back in Woodbridge!

Go to the Gulf Station at the corner of Green and Amboy....

Remember cheap gas? Well, it's back in Woodbridge - relatively speaking.

The Gulf Station on the corner of Green St. and Amboy Ave. has been back in business for some time, and now they're going for the throat. Imagine $3.59 a gallon of regular for cash on the barrelhead!

That's the price the unassuming Gulf Station is charging: $3.59 for regular if you pay in cash, $3.69 a gallon for credit card payments.

That extra 10 cents for whipping out your Visa is still cheaper than the gas at the two competing gas stations: the Sunoco and Shell stations, all of which are next to one another at the Green St. and Amboy Ave. intersection.

Anyone who has been in Woodbridge for more than six minutes remembers that these three stations are a marvel of capitalism in action. They constantly jostle gasoline prices against one another. In fact, if you regularly drive down that stretch of road, you probably quickly scan all three signs to see who's got the best price.

This week, by far, the big gas price winner is the Gulf station. As of this morning, the Sunoco station was charging $3.71 a gallon for regular and $4.01 for Plus, while the Shell station caddy corner to the Sunoco is pricing their gas at $3.75 for regular, $3.91 for Plus, and $4.01 for top of the line "V-Power."Β
