BJ’s Wholesale Club Donates Laptops & Printer to Local Family Shelter

Catholic Charities, Diocese of Metuchen, recently received support from its local BJ’s Wholesale Club in Edison, NJ.

One of the organization’s housing programs, The Ozanam Family Shelter in Edison, provides emergency shelter for 16 single women and 26 families. The facility has 14 emergency shelter beds and 26 transitional housing beds. While living in the shelter, program residents work with case managers to improve their earning capacity and obtain permanent housing.

BJ’s Wholesale Club hosted a two week collection drive at their local Club in Edison, NJ to benefit the shelter, gathering donated items from the organization’s wish list, including bath towels, diapers, paper towels, and toiletries.

In addition to the generous donations by BJ’s Members, the Club presented the Ozanam Family Shelter with four laptops and a printer for use by its residents. This donation will help ensure that circumstance doesn’t hinder education for the children at the shelter, as well as provide a means for adult residents to look for jobs, apartments, and improve their situation.

BJ’s is committed to providing support to local organizations, to enhancing existing programs in the community, and helping those individuals they serve.
