Private Sector vs. Government Competitor

For those you may not be aware, there is a year-round indoor mini golf and arcade on Route 1 in Edison.  (See: http://monsterminigolf.com/index.html)

As a private entity, it pays taxes!

Here's what Woodbridge taxpayers get for over a One Half Million Dollar investment, plus continuing operational and staffing costs. http://www.twp.woodbridge.nj.us/Departments/Recreation/SkylineMiniGolf/tabid/2276/Default.aspx

Why couldn't  the McCormac Administration have gotten private money to build or lease the Skyline Mini Golf Course?  Wouldn't it be better for the township to be taking in revenues, rather than expending them on fun and games?
