Woodbridge Emergency Shelter is Open

In an emergency, head to the Woodbridge Community Center on Main Street.

Woodbridge officials aren't taking any chances. They opened the Woodbridge Community Center as an emergency shelter at midnight on Sunday, October 28.

Officials are expecting flooding in low-lying areas of Woodbridge Proper and Colonia. They said that in the event of an emergency, the township's Office of Emergency Management (OEM), police, and firefighters will go door to door to notify residents they have to evacuate.

Residents who are registered with the town's Reverse 911 system will also receive calls, warnng them to be ready to leave.

Anyone who would like to be added to the Reverse 911 notification system can call OEM at 732-602-7361 and leave their name, street address, and the phone number to receive calls.

Officials also repeated that homeowners in low-lying and flood prone areas need to move their vehicles to higher ground.

More information will be reported on Patch as soon as it's received.
