Women Who "Go Red" Today Get Free Blood Pressure Screenings
Has it been awhile since you had your blood pressure checked? Get it done today for free at several sites throughout Woodbridge.
Today is National Go Red Day, a nationwide event promoted by the American Heart Association for women to become aware of their heart health.
To that end, Raritan Bay Medical Center is holding free blood pressure screenings and handing out stroke warning information at several sites in the Woodbridge area.
“Too many women die or become disabled each year from stroke and heart disease, the number three and number one killers of women,” said Mirian Medina, a nurse and coordinator of RBMC’s stroke center. “As proud supporters of the National Go Red for Women movement, we want to spread the word to women about living heart healthy and getting regular heart screenings.”
The blood pressure screen sites include the YMCA at the Woodbridge Community Center; Vito Mazza Salon; Wegman's; and the Medical Pavilion at Woodbridge. Screenings will be held from 11 am to 1 pm and 5 pm to 7 pm. Appointments are not needed.
