Recycle Art Contestants to be Chosen

The Recycled Art Contest winners from throughout Middlesex County will be announced in Woodbridge this Saturday.


School children from throughout Middlesex County will find out this Saturday if their recycled work of art is a winner.

That's when the winners for the Woodbridge Township Recycled Art contest will be announced. The contest sought contributions from elementary and middle school students from throughout the county, all of who would render their artwork in return for a shot at some nice prizes.

The exhibits will be shown at 1 pm Town Hall on the day the winners are announced.

All artwork had to be created by the youngsters from totally recycled materials, and the entrants had to be county residents.

The prizes are impressive. First place winners in both elementary and middle school categories will get a Nintendo Wii Console; second prize is an XBox 360; and third prize is an iPod Touch.

The program, sponsored by the Woodbridge Environmental Commission, is aimed at "raising awareness on recycling, reducing carbon footprints and promoting sustainability."
