Police Nab Two Carteret Men in Fords Gas Station Robbery
Two suspects were apprehended after they stole $150 in cash and some cigarettes from the Raceway Petroleum gas station Thursday.
Two Carteret men were nabbed by Woodbridge police Thursday after they robbed a Fords gas station.
Police apprehended Haider Ali Cheema, 19, and Mohammad S. Khan, 20, both of Carteret, after they allegedly engaged in a "glass break" - smashing in the glass window - of the Raceway Petroleum gas station on Lafayette Road in the Fords section of Woodbridge on September 6.
The men were seen by police walking away from the gas station after the owner called 911 to report the broken window, $150 in cash missing, and several packs of cigarettes stolen. As police approached the men, they split off and ran in opposite directions.
Police grabbed Cheema immediately and found Khan hiding out on Hickock Street after a brief search.
Officers found the cash and smokes in the backyard of a Webb Drive home while they were searching for Khan.
Cheema and Khan were both charged with burglary, theft, criminal mischief, and obstruction, and were transported to the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Facility in North Brunswick.
Both are being held on $20,000 bond with no 10 percent option, police said.

Generalizing an entire race for one individual or a group’s action is not appropriate. Besides those people who were involved in the event at that particular time are the only one what really happened. I know police reports can be exceptionally vague and alluding. By far this is still not an excuse for their actions which they will be held accountable for. Despite that fact, no one was hurt.
