Five Things: Kenny Rogers, Toy Drive

Christmas is coming, and Five Things gets you in the holiday mood.

 
  1. See Kenny Rogers tonight at the State Theatre in New Brunswick. The legendary country music singer will play a medley of Holiday music starting at 8 pm. Guests include Billy Dean and the East Brunswick High School Concert Choir. Tickets range from $28 to $150.   2. Attend a Holiday Toy Drive tonight at the Shannon Rose Irish Pub. It will be hosting its second annual Holiday Toy Drive fundraiser starting at 6 pm to benefit the David's Touch Foundation. Bring a new, unwrapped toy to the event. For more info, call 732-896-0656.
  3. Get a jump on January recreation. It's not too soon to think about how to keep busy in 2012; the Woodbridge Township Recreation Department is offering adults numerous recreational activities throughout the winter. They include adult karate; women's recreation; ceramics; basketball, and more. For more info, call 732-596-4048.
  4. Don't miss a great train exhibit. The Barron Arts Center is holding its phenomenal holiday model train exhibition through Dec. 29. Hours are weekdays from 11 am to 4 pm and weekends from 2 pm to 4 pm. Admission is free, but donations are welcome. For more info, call 732-634-0413.
  5. Gather for Christmas dinner. Attend a free Christmas Friendship Dinner December 25 from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Port Reading. Reservations are required. For more info, call 732-634-1419.
