A Ton of Flour Severely Injures an Avenel Worker

A 51-year-old man was injured when a ton of flour he was offloading from a rail car fell on him.

A worker at a warehouse in Avenel was severely injured Wednesday, when a 2,000 lb. pallet of flour he was moving fell on him.

The Avenel-Colonia First Aid Squad (ACFAS) responded to the call, which happened around 10:50 am at Terminal Way in the Avenel section of Woodbridge.

The man was unloading the ton of flour from a railroad car when it fell on him, said ACFAS president John McHale.
